Girls That Row is an all-female coastal rowing team that has grown into a force within local sport. The crew combine competitive drive with a strong social spirit, using their platform to encourage more women and girls to try rowing and challenge perceptions around female participation in sport. Their mission remains to highlight rowing as accessible, empowering, and rewarding, either through striving for medals or enjoying sunrise on the water with friends.
Grace Bailey is an underwater photographer specialising in the intricate details of marine life. Her images aim to inspire and educate others about conservation from a fresh perspective. An active passionate member of the conservation community, she regularly contributes to exhibitions and events that celebrate Jersey’s unique ecosystems.
Tamsin Raine is co-founder and CEO of Ocean Culture Life, a charity using creativity and community to inspire global ocean conservation. OCL has built a platform that brings together photographers, filmmakers, scientists and ocean advocates from around the world, delivering workshops, exhibitions and events that connect people to the importance of protecting marine environments through positive storytelling.
Tucked beneath the towering cliffs of Bonne Nuit Bay, a small but spirited group of women have carved out a ritual that is equal parts resilience, friendship and creativity. Meeting year round to brave the cold, north coast waters; after each swim they wrap up in layers against the chill for warm drinks and laughter, knitting their own club hats—each one a colourful beacon of shared experience and belonging.
Healing Waves Ocean Therapy is a charity using the power of the sea to change lives. It provides sessions for individuals living with disabilities, long-term conditions, and mental health challenges, using activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, and FlowRider to build confidence, communication, and resilience. With a dedicated team, specialist equipment, and a purpose-built surf therapy centre, Healing Waves delivers meaningful, confidence-boosting experiences and vital respite and community for hundreds of families.
